Plastic Project

From the approximately 100,000 bottles we salvaged from the forest, we made reusable and marketable items for which we were recognized by the Bisleri company and were nominated for the “Bottle for change" award. We have changed the lives of many ladies and provided them with work with dignity. we have so far collected over one lakh plastic bottles.
The Handicrafts Project at SGNP aims to create self-employment and sustainable livelihood for the Adivasi communities. We partner with the Forest Dept. in the protection of the forest and wildlife, along with recycling plastic waste and waste fabric, natural jute fiber, and recycled wood, to make eco-friendly products. We train the women in making various handicrafts including paper bags, String Lights, Fridge Magnets, Baskets, and Boxes using jute and crochet, Footwear, Trays, and Coasters, etc. Partnering with various stakeholders, we are creating a wholesale market of these products, made by tribal women, to the clientele on a monthly/regular basis. We are selling these products to corporate houses, entrepreneurs, etc, through exhibitions and digital marketing. The returns are subsequently utilized for the salaries of the women, and the production and management of the staff.
